About Me

Hello, I have been in the mental health profession (focus on mental health and developmental disabilities) since 2005. I have been providing counseling to children and adults since 2012 when I obtained full licensure with the North Carolina Board of Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselors (Previously-Licensed Professional Counselors. I am currently an Licensed Clinical Supervisor with the NC Board of LCMHC since 2020.) I am originally from Baltimore, Maryland, where I completed a Bachelor of Science, Psychology at Salisbury University in 2004. I completed my Master’s of Mental Health Counseling from Walden University in 2010.

I have had the opportunity to work in a variety of settings and with people from all walks of life. While living in Baltimore, I worked in a Special Education high school that provided a plethora of learning opportunities. Transitioning to North Carolina, I worked as an Intensive In Home Qualified Professional and Team Lead, eventually moving to Outpatient Therapy. Since 2010, I have provided counseling to children and adults in and out of family settings, coping with issues of anger, depression, low self-esteem, family separation, anxiety, trauma, etc.

Through an eclectic approach, I specialize in counseling clients (children and adults) in addressing (but not limited to) depression, ODD, ADHD, adjustment difficulties, trauma and/or abuse, anxiety, and developmental disabilities (such as Autism and Asperger’s Disorder). I believe that, at times, working in collaboration with local pediatrician’s offices, primary care, and school administrators/teachers, can provide a holistic approach to addressing client concerns.  I have been providing therapeutic services to children and families through an eclectic approach, including cognitive-behavioral therapy, trauma focus cognitive behavioral therapy, person centered planning, and solution focused therapy.  I have participated in a variety of training’s through TEACCH of North Carolina to provide appropriate and effective services to children, adolescents, and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder. This includes recently completing training for the TTAP assessment of skills for adolescents and adults.

I am currently offering Supervision services to individuals in Master’s level programs and graduates seeking licensure via LCMHC.
